We Go On!
What should have rendered us as useless
has only made us stronger
The story I am about to tell
Is the same around this country
We were hit by terrorists on 9-11-01
and
We endured
We did this while dealing with our own
crises on going and yet to come.
I like so many other Americans
care for a relative
who is elderly or infirm
We still attended to those who
needed us
some now
more than ever
and some who became afraid
for the first time
in their life
We, as Americans are faced with
an enemy we can't put an exact face to,
or a race,
or a religion
We are fighting an unknown enemy
that can rear up
at any time
and hit us where we least expect.
But do we cower and hide in our homes?
No
We go to work
and take care of the people
we love
The people who count on us
Whether it is a
Father
Mother
Son
Daughter
Grandparent
Aunt
Uncle
Brother
or Sister
We take care of them
and always will
I am so proud to be an American today.
I show my colors proudly and
I get the chance
to take care of another
American Citizen who is also
My Mom.
She is the one who taught me
to be proud of this country
and never let me forget
the gifts I was given for living here
or
to ever forget the people who died for it.
So for anyone wondering
if taking care of your
Mom
Dad
Grandpa
Grandma
Aunt
Uncle
Brother
or Sister
is in vain
No
It is not
What you are doing is to be commended
and what you are doing is not only preserving
but immortalizing
The American Way of Life
We shall overcome!
We will win this!
